What Sayqal keeps
Last updated 16 October 2026
In short
- What you answer and write in Sayqal stays on your phone. We never see it.
- There is no account and no sign-in.
- No ads, no tracking, no analytics or crash-reporting companies.
- Apple handles payments. We never see your card.
- If you join the waitlist on this website, we keep your email to send you the TestFlight link.
The app
Your answers and writing
Each day Sayqal asks you a question and lets you write a line. Your answers, the lines you write, your journal and your progress on the road are saved in the app's storage on your iPhone. They are not sent to us or to anyone else, and they are not synced to iCloud by Sayqal.
Like other app data, they can be included in your own iPhone backup (iCloud Backup or a backup on your computer), which Apple handles under its own privacy policy.
No account
You never make an account. If you give Sayqal your name, it is saved on your phone only, so the app can greet you.
A small log that stays on the phone
The app writes a short log of its own use, such as the days you opened it and the days you finished. Only a testing screen reads it, and that screen is not in the App Store version. The log never leaves your phone.
No third-party tracking
Sayqal does not include analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting code from other companies. It does not track you across apps or websites.
When the app uses the internet
- Recitation. When you press play on a recitation, the audio is streamed from verses.quran.com. Like any website, that server can see your IP address and which ayah was requested. Nothing you wrote is sent.
- Links to quran.com. Some links open quran.com in your browser.
- Purchases. Buying or restoring Sayqal Plus goes through Apple.
Everything else in the app works without the internet.
Purchases
Sayqal Plus is bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment and tells the app whether you have Plus. We do not receive your name, card or Apple ID. Apple's own privacy policy covers the payment.
Reminders
Reminders are set up on your phone at the time you choose. No server sends them. You can turn them off in Sayqal's Settings or in your iPhone's Settings.
Microphone, camera and photos
Sayqal asks for the microphone, the camera or your photos only if you add a voice note or a photo to your journal. Those files stay on your phone with the rest of your journal.
Deleting your data
In Sayqal, open Settings and tap Erase everything on this phone. This removes your answers, journal, progress, reminders and the small log above. Deleting the app from your iPhone also removes everything Sayqal saved. Because none of it is on our side, there is nothing for us to delete, and nothing we can recover for you.
This website
Visiting
sayqal.app uses no cookies and no analytics. If you switch the language, your choice is saved in your browser so the page remembers it. That stays in your browser.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which handles every request and keeps short technical logs (such as IP address and time) to run and protect the service. The fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser also asks Google's servers for them.
The waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we save:
- your email address,
- the language you were reading in (English or Roman Urdu),
- the date and time you joined,
- the country your request came from, as Cloudflare reports it.
This is stored with Cloudflare. We use it to send you the TestFlight link and to tell you when Sayqal is on the App Store. We do not sell it or share it with anyone. To be removed, write to support@sayqal.app from that address and we will delete it.
Children
Sayqal is not made for children under 13. The app collects nothing from anyone, children included, and we do not knowingly keep a waitlist email from a child.
Changes
If this changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. If the app ever starts sending your answers anywhere, we will say so in the app before it happens.
